Maryellen talks about me in her act, which, by the way, is not flattering. We talk about each other in our acts as well as about our own personal lives. So it's like you go to a party and you gossip about each other except the audience hears it.

I think we enjoy going up onstage in front of people who can identify with us and we can identify with them. It's a good feeling.

The Prime Minister is head of team but its not a one woman act. I've been called all those things. Intellectual, sharp-tongued, all true. But what New Zealander is like is to know that someone is in charge and in the end the buck stops with the Prime Minister.

I think if my daughter was interested in acting, I would find ways for her to act in theater that has to do with her school or a kids' improvisational thing. There are ways to do it where you're not on a movie set with 60 adults, which I loved at the time, but as a parent, I don't know that I'd be dying to put her in that spot.
