Maybe 'progress' isn't the sacred thing we make it out to be. Maybe it is just our collective ego's way of showing off?

It's not like I am sitting still, but I am not sure how far I am getting.

You get a lot farther taking imperfect steps than taking none at all.

That's just your ego, trying to make sure it stays in charge. This is what ego does. It keeps you feeling separate, keeps you with a sense of duality, tries to convince you that you're flawed and broken and alone instead of whole.

If we lived more from the person we would like ourselves to be and less from the "ideal" that others would like to experience us as, I suspect we would be lying a whole lot less, and liking ourselves a whole lot more. It takes a lot of effort to defend something we're not.

I hate when my mind is empty and swimming at the same time.
