Miller Place argues they do fine. Maybe they do since many of their children go to pre-school. But not all kids in Miller Place went to pre-school. We want to close the education gap ? that's the main reason we want to make it mandatory.

The school district doesn't have to be the provider. We will work with a consortium of people to use libraries and universities to house pre-K programs.

Too often we give children answers to remember rather than problems to solve.

While it is critical to address how children in detention are being treated, it is also crucially important to focus on reducing the vulnerabilities and circumstances that push children to the edge and into lifestyles which often result in law-breaking and criminality.

We do not appreciate being threatened on public television nonetheless and in front of our children. Even if the governor needs this to appear to be tough to the nation for his own political ambitions, it's inappropriate.
