Most consumers are not even aware that natural cork causes cork taint. It's associated with a certain chemical that's naturally occurring. In some cases, it's extremely noticeable, and the wine can be extremely unpleasant. In other cases, it can result in the wine not being as fresh or fruity.

The things that limit the continued extensibility of the fiber-optic network are cost and performance of future lasers. Lower cost could drive much more fiber into metropolitan areas.

The simplistic concept (of lasers) probably derived from that old James Bond movie of a laser driving down at Sean Connery. It was a big-old device with a circular beam coming down. Conceptually, that's kind of correct, but all lasers today with those big beams come from gas or material lasers.

One wonderful thing is, we have a totally unique technology. But that's also the bad news. We have to solve problems that no one knew existed. We're constantly being surprised.

Those are learning experiences, as opposed to mistakes, ... There is no correct answer.
