Moving away from home and on to college is a major life event. We've found that students want something inexpensive and readily accessible; parents want to be able to get money to their child quickly.

We want an older clientele to feel comfortable here. We want college students to feel at home here. We don't want this place to become just another teen hangout like other coffeehouses have become in the past around here.

The university is really interested in helping our students find a college to call home.

There are wonderful opportunities for students instead of getting caught in the bubble of college life to get involved in the community and prove that they can affect change at the local level.

Volunteers represent all ages and walks of life. We have college students as well as retirees. Everyone helps however they can. For some, this means doing the actual repairs. Others, we call the support team, run errands and bring food, water and Gatorade to those on site.

I don't think it's bad for college students to have credit cards. They are a fact of life and it's naïve to think they won't (have the cards).
