My goal is to move forward with the town and ask them to be more open to us when they propose bonding, and to understand the dilemma of the taxpayer. I'd like it to be an organization that has a positive relationship with town government.

We'll do our best to get the right information out. We would not want to mislead the public.

It's a no-lose situation for the children, the parents and the community. That's wonderful. It's money well spent.

Our agencies have been telling us that in the last year they've seen an 11 percent increase in need. They're seeing a lot more working poor families, husbands and wives who are both employed but just don't earn enough or people who were laid off a few years ago who got jobs again but don't make as much as they used to. When your income is strapped, food is one of the first things to go.

The three of us know exactly what the other is going to do. We're finally playing together, which is a necessity at the end of the season.
