My life is part humor, part roses, part thorns.

All my life, I've been a type 1 diabetic. I've always taken life day by day.

Life is like a bed of roses, so much is beautiful, but be mindful of the thorns.

If you don't feel the pointed things in life, you'll soon take the soft ones for granted.

I want to tell the story. Mostly, when you see rock movies, it has to be this over-the-top thing. I want to give people a Bret Michaels movie where they see that my life is a comedy of errors. I also want to show my fans how to get through the kind of troubles that would leave most people flat on the floor.

He picked up one of Lorna's roses and set it in my lap. "Here." I picked it up and smelled it. He poked me in the shoulder. "See what I mean? Thorns don't stop you from sniffing. Or putting them in a vase on the kitchen table. You work around them.... Cause the rose is worth it... Think what you'd miss.
