My message to a lot of guys is, if you like school and you like education, baseball is gonna be there, and you can get some of the same great competition in college that you do in the low minor leagues.

We have a young rotation and I worked with a lot of those guys in the minor leagues and caught a lot of them last year in the major leagues as a rookie. I feel like I have a pretty good relationship with all the pitchers.

I'm glad that I just played baseball, because I'm sure I had a much longer baseball career than I would've had a football career. I did miss football, but I didn't miss some of the injuries from football.

I was telling some college coaches before the game that in the (Public School Athletic League) the competition isn't that great, and that I thought I might get bored. They told me to keep playing hard and doing my best.

I wanted to go to college and play football.

When I finish playing, I think I'd like to coach college baseball.
