My story is a warning to all people here in the country that the current approach to waging war on terrorism from within our own borders is truly a threat to civil liberties.

Most people say 'You're never getting an apology,' but I'm still fighting for one,

They've made a terrible error in calculation and they've led my country into a war that we will need to extricate ourselves from at some point, ... Despite their efforts, there is a growing sense in the world that we need to find other ways of resolving these tensions.

We know through war a lot of damage has been done to a country and to a people. This is a chance to make one life better.

I've heard people say this country wasn't at war. I want to tell you, Mr. Chairman ... we conducted ourselves at war ... We did the best we could under the law and with the resources provided and under our defined rules of engagement.

It's very painful to me that our country is doing this and killing innocent people. I'm against all war, and I'm very concerned that I'm responsible as an American citizen for this kind of thing happening.
