Neither of the officers were injured in the shooting in any way. The suspect--the male--was pronounced dead on the scene.

One male from the George's River area was pronounced dead at the scene and another male was taken into custody.

The officers performed first aid until paramedics arrived and took him to Tameside General Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at approximately 9pm (2100 BST).
