Never. Not middle school baseball. Not high school football. I never got cut.

You got to stay realistic. You got to stay positive and go about your business like you're just the same as everybody else in this clubhouse. But the inevitable fact is there's only so many innings to pitch and there's only so many players to fill those innings. As of right now, unfortunately, we are not in those immediate plans. So I guess the best thing for us is to continue our craft down the street.

That was a pretty humbling experience. You're kind of flying through the system and everything's going great and all of a sudden, you walk in and, in all actuality, you ain't (expletive). It was a good experience but at the same time I think I took it out on the field. I was a little timid and shy and afraid to be who I really am.

Since I was in high school, I wanted to play professional football and professional baseball, be a two-sport star.

If you've got to depend on one guy in baseball, you're not going to survive. It's not like football - you can't carry the ball 30 times a game . . . You get one out of nine. You've got to be solid.

I stop watching baseball when football season starts,
