No ordinance can protect the children of our community 100 percent. The ordinance is just one tool available. Parents still need to know where their kids are and what they're up to.

Prague went with 1,000 feet because we heard that is the direction the state is leaning with their legislation.

We very seldom go through the full three reading procedure. When you only have meetings once a month, getting items passed would take forever otherwise.

With other communities around us passing similar ordinances, it seemed like the wise thing to do.

Our meeting was well attended by faculty, staff and parents of the children in our community that entertained prior to the meeting, but everyone stayed during the meeting. We were glad to see everyone and we would love to see such large attendance in the future.

It's a no-lose situation for the children, the parents and the community. That's wonderful. It's money well spent.
