No other industry is in the position where the dangers are as great as they are in agriculture.

We estimate right now that 70 percent of the labor force working in this industry lacks proper immigration status. The idea that we can work without these people is just crazy.

The situation on the ground looks the way it does because we've had a broken immigration system for years.

Best is politically unachievable, we believe.

We're not talking about amnesty or allowing foreigners to take advantage of our welfare system. We're talking about plugging the holes in our borders, and at the same time protecting U.S. farmers and consumers. In fact, we don't think you can succeed at one without the other.

Agriculture as we know it needs to disappear. We can design better and healthier proteins than we get from nature.
