Not to make excuses, but the kids were a little overwhelmed at the beginning. A lot of them, when they got done with beam, didn't even remember doing it. But they got their focus back again. We had nice floors, our vaults really good and our bars was real consistent. We were proud to be here, to begin with.

She's an awesome athlete with tremendous power. At the beginning, maybe there was a little fear in the back of her mind. But she's built confidence throughout the year. She's gotten stronger as the season's progressed and is in better shape because she hasn't had to sit out. She's a real competitor. The more competition she's in, the more she rises to it.

As much as she tried encouraging the other kids, it was hard to stay up when she was hurting on the sidelines.

I'm very happy for them and was sad for us when they dismounted their last event. Those kids can't be replaced. We'll miss them.

The level down here is unbelievable. They take some great lessons from what they experienced.

I was so proud of them. No matter what the outcome was, they were winners before they walked in the gym.
