Nowhere is there a sustained effort to reconcile any of the differences that have been highlighted here this morning.

Systemic exclusion requires systemic inclusion. Affirmative action is just one tool that ensures women and minorities have opportunities to be included.

Everybody's got to get into the game.

In that effort we made great strides. That is an ongoing effort and is something that will continue this year.

When I became president, they gave me a roster of about 150 members, and told me to find out who was still active and actually wanted to be involved. Once we knew who the real members were, we could do programs for them and pursue others who were really interested in participating. . We also had some tax issues that we took care of, and once we got through that the group was really able to grow and develop more easily.

The difference this year has been our defensive effort. This group bought into the team concept and it has worked.
