Ha ha, we kicked your (expletive). Sox fans still love that song. They just had a public poll out here as to what song should represent these White Sox. It was our song, from 1977, and it wasn't even close.

The South Side looks for a better buy. Sox fans are bargain-hunters.

It bothers me to see people asking thousands of dollars. It's not right.

I think I probably am more influenced by the overall groove of the track, not even the song. If we pinpoint the songs (by others) I've done on this album, they were really more about the overall feel of the record than the lyrics. I mean, sometimes I don't even know what people are saying when they sing. When I was younger, it was phonetic; I liked the sound of the words much more so than the words.

I wanted to write an antiwar song but didn't want to denigrate the courage of the soldier. There was too much of that 'baby killer' stuff going on.
