One-hundred percent of the family major medical insurance comes off as an adjustment to income. So, it becomes a nice deduction.

We have had a quarter century of tuition going up faster than family income. And we've had completely inadequate increases in the Pell grant. Many states and institutions are shifting from need-based aid to aid based on test scores. At the same time, college has become much more essential for achieving middle-class status in the U.S.

We need to become a family resort that can be wholesome for whatever income bracket your are in.

I say we put everything on the table first and then see what revenue streams we need. If an income tax is part of the new formula, then we put it before the people. People in this state often vote to tax themselves, through school bonds, so we should put it before them.

It's a healthy segment, no question about it. These are folks with a little more disposable income and they are looking to make sure their pets are well taken care of.

The double-income family was the standard. We are really moving back to the past.
