One's religion or spirituality will affect how one deals with death.

I don't think one is better than the other. I'm sure they're both experiencing enormous sadness.

It feels like it breaks down a barrier that is often there in everyday life around prejudice. We're having the opportunity to see folks as fellow human beings to whom we're reaching out in a time of need.

Let that be as it will, thus much is certain, that, however spiritual intrigues begin, they generally conclude like all others; they may branch upward toward heaven, but the root is in the earth.

So what is the difference between someone who willfully indulges in sexual pleasures while ignoring the Bible on moral purity and someone who willfully indulges in the selfish pursuit of more and more material possessions while ignoring the Bible on caring for the poor? The difference is that one involves a social taboo in the church and the other involves the social norm in the church.

Religion is for those who don't want to go to hell, and spirituality is for those who have already been there.
