Organ donation is very personal to me. My mother, before her death, was on kidney dialysis for several years.

After I die if I am buried I will rot. If I am burnt I will become ash but if my body is donated I will live to give life and happiness to many."

When Christopher got his license it had the organ donation on the back. My husband is a retired firefighter and Christopher had seen and heard a lot about accidents and what happens to people, and he was very aware of what problems there are and that is something he wanted to do. So he is still helping people.

Don't think of organ donations as giving up part of yourself to keep a total stranger alive. It's really a total stranger giving up almost all of themselves to keep part of you alive.

We've chose the Transplant Resource Center, an organ donation center, to be the recipient of this year's benefit.
