Our basketball team has had a very special year, and coach (Steve) Rives and the Statesmen are looking forward to this weekend.

On paper, we're .500, but if you look in deeper, we're so close to being a really good basketball team.

These kids have shown that they really step up in the big games. Hopefully, that carries over into basketball, too. But I do know that we shouldn't be too rattled by the type of crowd and atmosphere that will be there.

I still have my basketball legs. I have been trying too hard, too quick. It's kind of a work in progress right now. ... We're about a month behind.

This will sound a little strange, but we did not play good basketball tonight. I'm sure that the outside observer will say they really played tough against a top-ranked team on the road and blah, blah, blah. We turned it over 20 times. We were not able to keep people off the glass when it mattered most. And we shot like a junior high team from the free throw line.

I love the big, like, basketball sweats... and I only wear vintage T-shirts to bed, because I like the super-thin ones.
