Our line did a lot of work this week. We ran the plays over and over again. (David) English had a really good game. Our linemen really stepped it up.

There were a couple blown assignments, a couple missed tackles. They had a couple long runs. That led to their 16 points. Other than that, our defense played really well.

Our whole football team just had a really good night.

He was just a sophomore last year and he was in control. He's just taken it to the next level. He's just trying to get himself better and the team better. He takes control when he needs to. He's a bigger leader than me or (David) English or any of the captains. He's pretty much our fifth captain.

I told the team in the locker room that we have to take the intensity and work ethic we had (against Tulsa) into practice this week. I think more than anything, we've got a swagger. I think this was a confidence builder. It helps when you go into the next game with a swagger.

It feels like all the hard work paid off. I feel like we deserve to be there.
