Our main goal, No. 1, is to provide them with an opportunity to participate in a sport. Through that they learn about teamwork, they gain self-confidence. There's a lot of social benefits that go along with it, plus all the physical benefits.

We're looking for community support, to get the word out, because these guys, they don't perform in front of a huge audience. It's teachers and it's family that come to the games. (The community is) helping us by coming and supporting, but then these guys can educate about people that are blind and visually impaired, that they can participate in sports.

I feel that sport tests every emotion. You have your highs, you have your lows, you win, you lose. You can get frustrated with a teammate, but then you have camaraderie with them. It tests all emotions in a different atmosphere.

Not being "okay," is a gift. And inside that gift, is the strength to change and the courage to begin again.

You aren’t meant to fit in. Your fierce warrior spirit is meant to tear down old systems that lack integrity.

Do not mistake consequence for fate.
