Our material prosperity has lead many to walk away from God, hate God, mock God, and deny God's very exist. The result has been secular humanism, the idea of the superiority and flourishing of man, fueled by science, inherently quite useful, turned into a religion and worldview unto itself. The result of materialism and the glorification of man in his career and sexual prowess has led to spiritual bankruptcy, addiction, depression, and depravity of all kinds.
