Our mind is open, but then we'd really have to find a way to get that support.

They felt like our lawmakers always agreed with them. They didn't feel like they could effect much change, and they wanted to talk to a more diverse representation of the Legislature.

One of the things that continues to amaze me is just how much support this organization has been given by so many people for 40 years.

California has reduced teen pregnancy rates by 40 percent over the last 10 years because of the support we've received from state lawmakers and the public. Governors like Pete Wilson and Gray Davis left a lasting legacy in their support of family planning and reproductive rights. We honor them today for their outstanding leadership.

(The academy) offers brand new teachers the support they need to get through that very difficult first year. It is a brand new experience and most of what you learn in college is straight from a book. That (classroom) experience is really quite different.
