Our used book store is a fundraiser for Hospice. The community donates books and Hospice puts them on the shelf. We sell them and the money goes to patient care.

In July, we have a huge conference for mystery writers, where the best publishers come out looking for new talent. We also have a travel writing conference. Hundreds of people come through this conference and are now working as travel journalists.

We have writing classes and language classes. We have writing conferences.

The company execs are scheduled like everyone else to get out and sell books. Everyone here has been on the floor as a bookseller.

The only way to fight back is to do what we do best and hope the community supports us.

He (Rowland) is really a favorite in this community. He is performing straight off a tour in Spain so we are really lucky that he can fit us into his schedule.
