Overall, the girls stepped it up. They showed a lot of character.

We had a tough match with Napa and the girls came back on short notice. The singles players played extremely well, doubles were solid as ever. This was a very pleasing week for us. We didnt feel we'd be 2-1 at the end of this week.

Boys are idiots.

Girls are idiots, too, of course, but boys are a special kind of idiot.

A girl, for instance, will vote for a boy in an election, or go to a movie that's about a boy, or buy a book that features a boy hero (or villain). Boys are much less likely to return the favor. They can't wrap their feeble minds around the idea that this girl might have anything in common with them. It's like they can't recognize girls as human beings.

That night, the girls were up until about two in the morning. They were bouncing off the walls.

We got some girls in foul trouble and they had to sit down. We needed the whole bench tonight. It was nice to see everyone step up and contribute.

At the end of the day, the girls showed character and fight. We have plenty of that. We were down 10 in the second half and the girls found a way to dig in and gut this one out.
