Pains of love be sweeter far than all other pleasures are.

All earthly delights are sweeter in expectation than in enjoyment; but all spiritual pleasures more in fruition than in expectation.

Love is love's reward.

And with Epicurus, I conceive that pleasures are to be avoided if greater pains be the consequence, and pains to be coveted that will terminate in greater pleasures

And love's the noblest frailty of the mind.
