People can choose their own food. Most pantries won't be able to provide that [protein]-it's wonderful to be able to give that to the people.

One thing about our pantry that makes us different is that we're feeding people on a weekly basis.

The towns have not stepped up to the plate. We can't wait 15 years for that to happen-it has to happen now. When you think about all the towns in South County, there are just two shelters (the Welcome House in Peace Dale and the W.A.R.M. Shelter in Westerly) and they're both filled to capacity, so where can we put these people?

It's very unnerving, and unfortunately the numbers have gotten larger and the lines longer. It's frustrating, in seeing the help not come from the state.

It's great to work with excellent community members like Michael Coleman. I don't know what we can do to repay [him].

I don't think society as a whole realizes that there are needy families in South County, that the numbers have been documented over the years. A lot of people do fall through the cracks.
