People have anxieties about globalization, illegal immigration, low wages, job insecurity, and they see day laborers as in some way representing all of these things.

Day laborers are more vulnerable because they are highly visible.

Volunteers and staff of workers' centers, any charitable organization or individual, would become a criminal and (their) property would be seized. People would be considered felons just for providing support.

If you're totally illiterate and living on one dollar a day, the benefits of globalization never come to you.

We must take care that globalization does not become something people become afraid of.

It is people who are the objects of globalization and at the same time its subjects. What also follows logically from this is that globalization is not a law of nature, but rather a process set in train by people.
