People in Galveston knew that there was a storm in the Gulf of Mexico. It was reported in the Galveston County Daily News but they didn't know where the storm would make landfall.

That's one of the reasons so many people lost their lives: complacency.

Galveston was down and out when the state economy shifted from agriculture to oil in 1901. Houston was bound to become the center, to represent the state's economy.

It's something that would kind of keep me in touch with Athens, ... I met so many people there, and Athens has been so good to me. So it's good to have something like that so when you come back, it's a good excuse to go to Athens.

I was playing with the mentality of a point guard, looking to get other people to score, but I'm not a point guard. When I get the ball, it's coming to me to score. I just wasn't being aggressive. I lost confidence so I didn't think I could make shots. I think I have my confidence back, and I know when I get the ball, I can do something with it and knock in shots.

It's nice when people say they want to raise money for you.
