People kept telling us that everything is going to Mississippi and Louisiana and they feel forgotten.

There were huge posts beside the road, all twisted up like modern art. I couldn't figure out what they were, and then it dawned on me. They were billboards!

Kathy has a saying. She believes that everything will turn out all right because we are doing God's work. I believe it was more of a test to see how committed we were!

Every penny donated went for what it was intended—food, water and cleaning supplies. We always had someone go with us to watch when we bought something, and Kathy put in a lot of her own money, too.

Some people stopped their cars, got out and joined us. It was so awesome. I think people are just waiting for a group like ours to come along.

It didn't take us long to put together the baskets because we had so many people helping.
