People would say that if we played anybody, any of the other 31 teams, that Wyoming Valley West doesn't stand a chance. But we scrimmaged Pocono Mountain East with a 6-9 kid and held our own.

They play a style that's quite a bit different from other teams we've played. A lot of the game was playing in the neutral zone. They don't give you good looks and they clog up the middle.

We appreciate what he's done for the West, what he's done for Wyoming, and particularly Frontier Days,

I ran this [West Coast] offense for three years at Carolina, so the verbiage came pretty quick. A few teams called Sunday, but this deal was definitely something I was interested in. There's a lot of good players here that are going to be a good team, so it was an easy decision.

As somebody from Wyoming, it's always good to get that guy back to the West to remember his roots, as it is for me, ... Obviously, the West is changing, but it still has the values we appreciate.

Our special teams played well.
