Personalized medicine is the right drug for the disease to the right patient at the right time. If we can get this kind of information available in real time to physicians, it would allow us potentially to be able to look -- before we gave the drug to individuals -- for those type of reactions.

We need new tools and hypothetical models to study the ecology of disease, and we need interdisciplinary professionals from medicine, public health, economics and the social sciences to collaborate. This can't be shoved under the desk or put on hold because the maps show in color the disparities that children in the Deep South face every day.

Medicine can only cure curable disease, and then not always

The disease is produced by influences which act similar to the healing process and the disease condition is removed through remedies which produce similar symptoms to the disease.

It's interesting to see this very complex plant disease as a potential source of medicine for a very difficult human disease.

An estimated 25 million Africans are infected with HIV. Of those, 3 (million) to 4 million have advanced disease. Of those, only about 10,000 wealthy people with HIV have access to these drugs.
