[Pinch-hitting] is not easy, but you do the best you can. You've got to go up there ready to hit.

We're not ready to pinch ourselves yet. We didn't come this far to just settle.

I think I can be ready to pinch-hit or go in the game. But if not, I'm going to let them know that I need a little more time. I want to be ready for the whole season, which is more important.

You kept telling yourself to not look over your shoulder, but the Mariners were making so much noise. That's how Cleveland is right now. Everybody is talking about them. You've got to find a way to stop it -- whether that means taking the televisions out of the clubhouse, stopping newspaper delivery, whatever. You've got to do it.

When we started jogging him, he was ready to turn around then, so we had to go real easy with him. He didn't want to come off the racetrack a few times. He had been walking for two and half to three hours a day, and then we started to jog him, but I'll know more as to how much fitness he's maintained once he starts galloping on his own, and once we get a breeze underneath him. But he looks really good.

Obviously he would have to have a pinch-runner. I think [the pinch-hitting] would have to be in an emergency situation.
