We don't think that people should be able to abuse animals like this. One minute, they'd say we're going to bring her back, then they'd say, oops, we're going to kill her. ... We're doing this because we think for a long time they've gotten away with treating people like this.

That's psychologically got to be tough on an abused dog. It took a year before we could touch her.

The whole reason that we're doing this is to change the system for the sake of the animals and other people who are animal lovers. It's a social justice issue and animal justice issue.
