Punpun was just fine again today.

... back then the sky seemed so vast.

And now the sky above me... is low, and narrow, and heavy.

Uncle Yuichi: Something's moving up there? Hmm... I don't see anything. It was probably a satelite.

Punpun (with gums flapping): Could I have discovered a new planet?!

(long pause)

Yuichi: Yes! This could be a great discovery! If it really is a new planet... It'll be called Planet PunPun!

Punpun (slobbering again): Do you think I'll win the Nobel Prise?!

Yuichi: You sure are a greedy kid.

The world is drowning in weirdness and lies......and here we are, so used to it that we're actually bored!

In town, there's a tiny beach that's never busy, not even in the summer.

I used to like walking there, looking for stuff.

Like old fireworks.

Or kelp.

A hat knocked off someone's head by the wind.

You basically never find what you were expecting to.

And maybe you weren't expecting to find anything right from the start...

I bet even this little boy will grow up to be an adult before he realizes. He'll just become an adult like that. Whether he accepts it or resists until the end is a big fork in the path of life, I suppose.
