Racial and denominational schools impart to the membership of their communities something which the general educational institution is wholly unable to inculcate.

It is difficult to get in and out and to operate as a normal school. If the schools are to operate normally, we need the leverage in which to do so.

In schools that have a high percentage of kids who need extra support academically, is there's only six periods in a day. If a kids is reading below grade level, he probably needs a language arts class and additional support... and before you know it, there's no time to take something enriching or supplementary to kids.

Yeah, this is the time of year when we get out to the high schools and see what kind of talent is out there and we haven't been able to do that.

We've had great response for it. It brings all different schools together at one time, a great uniting event with all administrations of school districts in the county. It's our way of thanking teachers and congratulating students for the job they did.

Essentially, it is a product of increasing competition. The challenge is that the state schools have the advantage of taxpayer support. Private schools have to compete.
