Remember, Ginger Rogers did everything that Fred Astaire did, backwards and on high heels

I live in a wonderful world of make-believe. A world of Ginger Rogers and Fred Astaire. A world of Winnie the Pooh and Edward Bear. Things like that. Wonderful things. Funny things.

Compositionally I always wanted to be like Fred Astaire.

A testing director at MGM wrote a note to Fred Astaire after his first screen test, "Can't act. Can't sing. Slightly bald. Can dance a little." After becoming a singing and dancing sensation, he kept the note as a reminder of his journey. Let where you came from open your mind to the path of possibilities of where you could go.

I can sing as well as Fred Astaire can act.

What's been important in my understanding of myself and others is the fact that each one of us is so much more than any one thing. A sick child is much more than his or her sickness.
A person with a disability is much, much more than a handicap. A pediatrician is more than a medical doctor. You're MUCH more than your job description or your age or your income or your output.
