Right now it seems like the uncertainty would make senators more circumspect with Roberts.

It seems the government is somewhat vindicated.

The senators go home and find out, if they vote for this stuff, then the voters are going to be upset. Their own voters don't like it.

I didn't hear the conversation but Mr. Stephens explained to Mr. Roberts that he had plans for me and I'd be all right.

He looked me square in the eye and said that they didn't take place, ... I must take Judge Roberts at his word.

It is a strong endorsement. The question is: How relevant is it? Someone who was on the 3 rd Circuit for a decade and a half and has done a good job is likely to get this rating.
