Save the Planet...Buy Organic

I don't think I'll ever grow old and say, "What was I thinking eating all those fruits and vegetables?

I don't always buy organic food. It is more expensive.

When I tour, I stuff fridges full of organic food and stick to that.

Yet the organic label itself—like every other such label in the supermarket—is really just an imperfect substitute for direct observation of how a food is produced, a concession to the reality that most people in an industrial society haven’t the time or the inclination to follow their food back to the farm, a farm which today is apt to be, on average, fifteen hundred miles away.

Going green doesn’t start with doing green acts — it starts with a shift in consciousness. This shift allows you to recognize that with every choice you make, you are voting either for or against the kind of world you wish to see.
