She wasn't real appreciative and wound up getting angry at me. She said to me sarcastically: 'If you know so much, why don't you show me what I'm doing wrong?' I did, and we've been arguing ever since.

If anyone gets angry with another, they wound me to the quick.

I think at first it might have been a cultural thing. I'm a fiery, emotional guy and she's pretty laid-back, and I think initially I took her lack of emotion as a sign she didn't care or wasn't working as hard as she should have been working. But nothing could have been further from the truth.

Her standing is remarkable when you consider she is carrying such a heavy academic load that she can only devote a part of herself to training. We've been able to tailor a program for her that enables her to balance her training and competition schedules with her studies.

I have learned that I should be careful with the words I choose to say when I am angry because later, those words always leave a huge wound of regrets in my heart besides hurting the loved ones. Those wounds can't be healed!
