Sixty-four teams start [NCAA tournament] and they're whittled down to just one. Kind of reminds me of what we've done with our allies.

Going into the tournament, we recognized the considerable parity of the top four teams in the conference. So, we looked at it in terms of if we do really well, we could take the whole thing. And on the other hand, if we do really poorly, we could be fourth.

It came down to what's beneficial for the league to get the most teams in the tournament. But I don't think they envisioned a league with eight teams in the Top 25.

If independent voters start breaking our way in this election, that's a good omen for '06 and '08. It's a good signal that we retain New Jersey, and it's even better if we win in a Southern state like Virginia.
