Some kids have been waiting a long time.

The kids are nervous and the mentor is nervous, because they are meeting someone they don't know who is theoretically going to be important in their lives.

These kids really need someone else, a mentor, to do things with, to get them out, away from the ever-present face of AIDS.

A lot of our clientele are boomers who are homeowners and as the kids get older and they have more time to spend as they want to, people are finding gardening as a hobby in their 40s and 50s.

We have a good nucleus of hitters back, and if we get some support from the younger kids, we'll be right there. We just have to get ourselves organized. Right now, we are getting a feel for what we are capable of doing. I hope to see us really improve by the end of the season.

These kids are being approached by a young, pretty-looking girl that looks like a teenager, and you know young boys. They are gullible. There is a pretty girl asking, 'Do you know where I can get some marijuana? Can you get a hold of some for me?' All the kids know where to get a hold of marijuana, whether they are doing it or not.
