Some of the guys actually slept in the clubhouse.

I don't come into the clubhouse and pat guys on the (butt). They know where they can find me.

It's a very quiet clubhouse. Guys feel like they got kicked in the stomach.

I feel good about it. The clubhouse, all the guys have made themselves available. There is not a lot of ego in here, which is really nice. Everybody's able to be themselves and just have a good time. I feel really good about this team.

It was exciting. I told the guys in the clubhouse that I was hoping I could face Jeter. Everyone looks up to Jeter growing up. He's the man.

I think the only guys who believed in it were the guys in the clubhouse, [manager] Tony Pena and [general manager] Allard Baird . No one is going to give us respect until we're on top at the end of September.
