Some people were deeply hurt. Several people from church left, after years and years of feeling like they're part of the body. It felt like an amputation.

It's still hard when you see the people, and they don't come to our church. ... While we're not raw and bleeding to the bone, there's still a few tender spots.

It's been a long road. You go to church to feel as if you belong to something, you're part of something.

If you are hurting because they hurt then they are the ONE.

We did go through a lot of hurt when the church split. But one of the surprising outcomes was that when the people who were unhappy left, we were left once again with happy people. . . . We are and we continue to be a warm and welcoming place where people can come to worship.

We are first and foremost saddened, because we all hurt when one church wants to leave the body, but the implications are far greater than that.
