Someday when historians record the decline of the American steel industry, President Bush will have the infamous distinction of contributing to the decimation of our industry and the loss of American jobs.

In the end it may well be that Britain will be honored by historians more for the way she disposed of an empire than for the way in which she acquired it

What historians will look at is her contributions in these other things. Historians will understand and explore the full dimensions and not just the perfectly made up, dignified widow.

We will leave that to historians.

What historians will do is not focus on her role as the wife of Martin ... or that she carried on his legacy. They will focus on how she managed to be the leader of institutions and movements by her own right. And not just in organizing the King Center.

I hope that not only my documentaries, but everybody's documentaries, last. It will really confuse historians in the next century, because they'll have, in addition to all the print material, they'll have all these pictures to look at.
