Sometimes when you sneak up on somebody, the next year you can't sneak up anymore. You always have to be mentally prepared for a period of regression because it's so new.

He has probably been a little bit sharper this year. But his velocity was there when he needed it, his breaking pitches were there when he needed them.

I don't even have to see stuff like that. I stand by the cage and I watch how somebody uses their hands. And when you get a big person who uses his hands well, they normally have pretty good power. And he's a big guy and uses his hands really well.

Everybody thinks next year is the year we go to state. But I wouldn't be surprised if we sneak up on somebody this year.

This is the second game of the year. We have plenty to go. I am not upset. I am not concerned.

You have to get good pitching to beat the Red Sox, period. When they have pitching like they do, you can't expect to come in here and just try to go toe-to-toe with them and beat them 9-8 all the time. You're just not going to do it. So we got a good pitching performance and won tonight.
