Sometimes you have to give credit where credit is due. But from an offensive standpoint, we just are not swinging the bats worth a dime. We had opportunities time and time again. We just couldn't put anything together.

From a physical standpoint, he looks to be OK, but you can't deny that he's going into uncharted territory. It's an extra 4-5 starts, so we've got to monitor it carefully. And, regardless of what we come up with, it's going to be an ongoing evaluation of how he's doing from one start to the next.

His pitches had gotten up and certainly we did not want him to extend any further than he had extended it. He got his work in.

I'm sure (rust) factored in. His breaking stuff was not as sharp tonight. He has pitched very sparingly as of late. That all comes into play.

From an offensive standpoint, it's probably the deepest team we've had since [2001-02].

We probably know each other better from an offensive-defensive standpoint than a personal standpoint.
