Sunday afternoons are a great time to get people to explore West Atlantic. There are new stores and restaurants all within walking distance of the library.

I think it's apathy that's been fueled by the feeling like you have the inability to change anything in your life.

The county and city came together to create a new Fifth Avenue for a new century. That meant new sidewalks, landscaping, lighting and parking. People became early investors.

We have been seeing this movement for some time now - our hotels are full, our restaurants, the track is doing great business and not just from locals. We are seeing a lot of people from outside our area coming here. They are shopping in our stores, buying gas at our stations.

People are still going to meet in restaurants. They may just have to pay their own way.

Sit around the bars, talked to people, ate in the restaurants, and chatted with the old ladies on the street. Fishermen are pretty much that way.
