Thank you for the opportunity for the Democratic Party and progressives to reclaim the votes of the sane citizens of these United States.

I have to thank the People, the Congress, and the Government of the United States for my liberation.

If Feingold does it, if he wins this race in this year, it will not be as just another Democratic senator. It will not be as a maverick, nor even as an idealist. It will be as a signal that maybe, just maybe, people power can still beat the money power. That senators aren't just extensions of parties and presidents, and that politics can be about something more than Democratic toothpaste versus Republican toothpaste.

There are a lot of countries, oil-producing countries, that aren't very democratic, but supported by the United States. That's odd.

I belong to the Democratic Party.

It's been a great teaching opportunity because we've been able to look at the map, look at the United States and see how far Europe and Italy is and how long it would take to get there.
